Aurora's Crown - Sleeping Beauty Pin Up Cosplay Part 1

Image
So I'm working on a little out of the blue project, a pin up version of Sleeping Beauty. It won't ever make its way to a con, but it has a few elements of techniques I wanted to practice and I already had most of what I needed - so far all I've purchased for it was one sheet of craft foam and a thrift store nightgown for a silk/satin type fabric. The whole thing cost me less than $3 and some supplies I already had!  You will need: - Craft foam - Headband - Glue - Gold Spray Paint - Gems (optional)   First, cut out the craft foam to form the basic shape of the crown. I used THIS TEMPLATE . Glue it to a base - I used a a base from an old "Happy New Year!" headband. The foam is going to want to bounce off since it's been kept flat, so be patient and hold it for a bit until the glue starts to hold. I also used binder clips at the edge just to be sure. Leave to dry.   Once the glue has fully dried, spray paint. Remember, ...

3 Panel Circle Skirt - Snow White Cosplay Part 1

I spent a lot of time looking up Snow White cosplays online, but overall decided that I just did not care for the options that I had within the budget that I wanted to stick with. So, I decided to make one myself! I wanted it to be similar to her gown in the Disney film, but with a little bit of my own spin on it. It ended up being PERFECT and I was so happy. I was nervous about ordering fabric online (this was a first for me!), so I was relieved when it came and was exactly what I was hoping for! I decided to use Simplicity 1550. I read some reviews online and it seemed like the general consensus was that it was a decent starter pattern, so I went with it. I plan to use the main long skirt and bodice A for this project. I already have a white camisa that I am hoping will work well with the finished pieces - otherwise I ...

Obligatory Introduction

I've done some blogging in the past but nothing that has ever lasted longer than a year; then once in a while I get the writing bug and start a new blog. "Forever Follow Me Down" was of course inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, a favorite tale of mine. I have a tendency to find rabbit holes that lead right into my own little world. I've evidently decided that I know how to sew (which is mostly partially true), and this blog is going to serve as my sewing/crafting journal as I build upon my skills. I want everything recorded so I can go back if I forgot where I got something for a project, or how I did something, or just in general go back and see how I've progressed because I have a LOT of projects coming together to tackle new things I haven't tried before. As a cosplayer, I have quickly found that the best way to get the costumes I want is to just make them myself. I'm striving to start off easy and build my way up to mo...
